In Fall 2019 I created a concept for a
Rumble Boxing mobile app. Rumble is a boutique boxing gym focusing on full-body strength training and conditioning. With the rise of group class gyms like
SoulCycle,
Barry’s Bootcamp, and
Mile High Running Club, Rumble is finding a growing audience in a new avenue of the fitness industry.
I’ve been doing a lot of research into the concept of
‘‘third places’’ that provide a dependable experience and community outside of work and home, and in particular how
fitness communities are
being formed around institutions to create well-branded groups with common interests. While Rumble isn’t attempting to imitate the predominantly digital community that
Peloton has,
it is a flourishing third place that is beginning to bring its members together through digital products. I’m very excited about projects that facilitate real, physical experiences without grounding the user in their devices. The full case study is currently private because of recent theft issues I’ve encountered (stop stealing my work!), but feel free to contact me if you’re interested in seeing more.
